Jason Aldean Reflects on 15th Anniversary of “Don’t You Wanna Stay”

Country star Jason Aldean recently reflected on a milestone in his career, as he marked the 15th anniversary of his chart-topping duet with Kelly Clarkson, “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” The hit song, released in November 2010, climbed its way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in March 2011.

In a special video message shared on Saturday, Aldean expressed gratitude for the enduring success of “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” a track from his 2010 album “My Kinda Party.” He described the song as one that never faded into obscurity, remaining a significant part of his musical journey.

The heartfelt duet spent a remarkable 23 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart, with an additional 71 weeks on the Country Digital Sales chart, three of which were spent at the very top. Aldean and Clarkson’s collaboration even secured a spot on Billboard’s list of the “25 Best Country Love Song Duets Of All Time,” claiming the No. 9 position in 2022.

Acknowledging the role Clarkson played in the success of the song, Aldean extended a heartfelt thank you to her for joining him on the track years ago. As he celebrated the song’s 15th anniversary, he encouraged fans to raise a glass and turn up the music in honor of the occasion.
