On Saturday, 56-year-old Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx attended his daughter’s wedding ceremony to Joe Hooten, 17 months after the Ray star had fought for his life in hospital following a medical complication.
Garcelle Beauvais, who worked with Jamie on The Jamie Foxx Show, announced the wedding via Instagram. She wrote: “Last night we got to witness and celebrate the love of @corinnefoxx and @joe.hooten. Your love and respect for each other is palpable. Corinne, you looked stunning.”
Jamie was visibly emotional as he walked Corinne down the aisle, holding onto her arm, showing signs of a good recovery from his undisclosed medical crisis. The bride, wearing an off-the-shoulder white dress with floral embellishments, carried a bouquet of white roses.
Corinne, 30, is Jamie’s daughter with TV producer Connie Kline. He is also father to another daughter, Anelise, 15, with his ex Kristin Grannis.
Corinne and Joe met while both were students at the University of Southern California. They reconnected and started dating after graduation. Corinne shared that she made the bold move of liking an old picture of Joe on Instagram, prompting him to instantly message her and ask her out. Their first date took place on a sailboat, which Joe was living on at the time.
The couple announced their engagement last December, with Jamie expressing his excitement over the news. In an Instagram post, Jamie revealed that Joe had confided in him about his plans to propose and that he had his “tissues” ready for their big day.
He wrote: “When you whispered to me a while back that you were gonna ask my baby girl to marry you, I had tears of joy in my soul. @corinnefoxx, you have, and have always had, a special place in my heart. You deserve love abundantly. So again, congratulations to you two. Can’t wait to walk you down that aisle. You have a great soul in @joe.hooten. I LOVE YOU BOTH DEARLY. I have my tissues ready.”
