Iron Maiden to Skip Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Event

The anticipation among fans has been building for decades as Iron Maiden gears up for its long-awaited induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, in a surprising move, the band has decided to skip the induction event, much to the disappointment of their dedicated followers.

Iron Maiden’s manager, Rod Smallwood, announced that the band will be on tour in Australia during the scheduled November date of the Induction ceremony in Los Angeles. This conflicting schedule has forced the band to prioritize their tour commitments over the prestigious Hall of Fame event.

The induction ceremony is set for November 14 in Los Angeles, right in the middle of Iron Maiden’s Australian tour, with shows in Melbourne and Sydney both before and after the ceremony. This clash made it impossible for the band to make both events work.

Smallwood reassured fans that the Australian and New Zealand tour dates will proceed as planned, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees. Iron Maiden remains committed to bringing their “Run For Your Lives Tour” to their loyal Australasian fan base, making sure their 50th-anniversary celebrations continue without interruption.

While some may wonder if there is tension with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for declining the induction invitation, Smallwood clarified that Iron Maiden always puts their fans first. The band’s decision not to attend the ceremony was made with the fans’ best interests in mind, ensuring that their live shows will go on as scheduled.

After forming in East London in 1975, Iron Maiden has had a long and successful career, finally earning their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2026 after multiple nominations. This milestone achievement marks a significant moment for the band as they continue to solidify their legacy in the music industry.

As Iron Maiden embarks on only their eighth trip down under in their 50-year history, fans can rest assured that nothing will derail this momentous tour. The band’s dedication to their global fan base is unwavering, even in the face of prestigious accolades like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

In addition to their tour schedule, Iron Maiden fans have even more to look forward to this year, with the release of their documentary, “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition,” hitting theaters on May 7, 2026. The band’s impact on the music industry and their devoted following continue to make waves, solidifying their status as legends in the rock genre.
