Decades after its initial release, The Beatles have gifted fans with an official music video for George Harrison’s beloved hit song. Released on Tuesday, Dec. 15, the new music video for “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” was directed by none other than Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard.
In the video, Wolfhard showcases a stop-motion depiction of Harrison navigating through scenes inspired by Harrison’s famous gardens at Friar Park in Oxfordshire, England. The 22-year-old actor worked remotely with animators to bring his vision to life, portraying the plants in the garden as if they were alive, paying homage to Harrison’s love for his garden.
Harrison originally wrote “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)” in 1973 for his solo album, “Living in the Material World,” released just three years after The Beatles disbanded. The legendary guitarist passed away in November 2001 at the age of 58 after battling lung cancer.
The Beatles’ official Instagram account shared a clip of the music video, describing it as a “gift for all.” Fans praised Wolfhard and the team involved in the production, expressing admiration for the beautiful tribute to Harrison.
The full music video is now available to watch on YouTube, allowing viewers to experience the magic of Harrison’s iconic song in a new and imaginative way.
