Delta Redefines Airport Lounges at Sphere Lounge Opening

Step into a whole new world of airline lounges – one that doesn’t involve checking in for a flight. Delta Air Lines has broken new ground by unveiling its first-ever airport lounge that resides within Sphere, the immersive entertainment venue located on the bustling Las Vegas Strip. This move marks a significant shift in the traditional concept of airline lounges, reflecting a fresh perspective on loyalty, travel, and experiences beyond the typical terminal setting.

Named the Delta SKY360° Club, this innovative space situated on Sphere’s event level offers guests access during concerts, Sphere Experiences like “The Wizard of Oz at Sphere,” and select special events. Rather than a waiting area before boarding a plane, the lounge aims to enhance the overall experience once visitors have arrived at the venue.

Delta isn’t merely extending its brand; it is redefining the very idea of an “airport lounge.” This shift moves away from the usual associations with travel delays, gate changes, and boarding calls, towards a focus on entertainment, culture, and experiences that individuals actively plan their trips around.

As part of a multi-year partnership, Delta has become the Official Airline of Sphere. In addition to the SKY360° Club, the airline will feature prominently on Sphere’s impressive LED exterior known as the Exosphere, as well as across the venue’s signage and digital platforms. SkyMiles members can also look forward to exclusive Sphere packages and events through the SkyMiles Experiences platform starting in 2026.

This collaboration reflects a broader trend in airline loyalty, shifting from traditional perks like upgrades and priority boarding towards lifestyle-driven access, akin to the approach taken by credit card partners working with airlines on rewards programs. Delta’s aim is to provide customers with access to unique experiences they might otherwise miss out on.

“At Delta, our mission is to make every journey matter, extending beyond the flight,” says Alicia Tillman, Chief Marketing Officer at Delta Air Lines. This partnership aligns with the airline’s commitment to connecting people with the places and experiences that hold the most significance, offering a spirit of connection and innovation at one of the world’s most iconic venues.

Looking ahead, Delta continues to expand its presence at Sphere, following CEO Ed Bastian’s CES keynote at the venue last year. With plans to increase flights to Las Vegas for CES 2026, including expanded international service, Delta is firmly establishing itself as a key player in the exciting world of immersive entertainment.

In a groundbreaking move, Delta has taken the traditional airport lounge out of the terminal and given it a fresh, exciting new twist. This innovative approach may just revolutionize the way travelers view and utilize airport lounges in the future.
