Christopher Nolan Expands Cast with Anne Hathaway and Zendaya for Next Universal Film

Christopher Nolan is adding more star power to his next project with Universal, as Anne Hathaway and Zendaya have joined the high-profile cast. They are set to appear alongside previously announced actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland in what’s expected to be one of the year’s most anticipated films.

Scheduled for an Imax release on July 17, 2026, the film aligns with Nolan’s preference for mid-summer premieres, a pattern seen in many previous releases. Universal has not commented on the latest casting news, and while details on the plot remain under wraps, sources confirm that existing descriptions circulating online are inaccurate, keeping the project shrouded in mystery.

The film is expected to begin shooting in early 2025, attracting some of the industry’s top talent eager to work with Nolan. Zendaya will be collaborating with the director for the first time, while Hathaway, a seasoned collaborator of Nolan’s, will be returning for her third film with him, following her roles in The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and Interstellar (2014).

Hathaway has had a productive year in 2024, starring in the psychological thriller Mother’s Instinct with Jessica Chastain and Amazon’s The Idea of You. She will next appear in Warner Bros’ Flowervale Station. Zendaya, meanwhile, kicked off the year with Dune: Part Two, which achieved box office success, grossing over $700 million worldwide, and later starred in the Amazon MGM drama Challengers.

Nolan’s new project promises to combine top-tier talent and the director’s signature style, making it one of the most highly anticipated releases in the coming years.
