Chaos at Texas Airport: Worker Accidentally Spills Fuel on American Airlines Plane

An unexpected mishap at a Texas airport turned a routine airplane refuel into a chaotic situation. A worker accidentally spilled dangerous fuel on an American Airlines plane and the airport tarmac. The incident occurred at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where an employee was refueling an American Eagle aircraft at Terminal E.

The video of the incident shows the worker struggling to attach the fuel hose to the aircraft, only to have it forcefully ejected, dousing both the worker and the plane with fuel. The fuel sprayed uncontrollably, flooding the tarmac with flammable liquid.

The distressed airport employee was seen trying to clean the fuel off his face as the fuel continued to flow. Eventually, he managed to shut down the fuel system, standing ankle-deep in the spilled liquid.

Thankfully, the airport’s spill containment infrastructure was able to contain the fuel, and the tarmac was cleaned successfully, although the extent of the spill remains unclear. American Airlines released a statement, acknowledging the incident and confirming their collaboration with DFW Airport and the fueling contractor for the cleanup.

This incident comes after a previous incident at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where several people were hospitalized due to inhalation symptoms possibly caused by jet fuel. Six crew members and a gate agent were treated on the tarmac before being taken to a local hospital for further care.
