Carrie Underwood took “American Idol” fans on a nostalgic trip during Monday night’s “iconic Idol moments” special.
The singer, who won Season 4 of the show in 2005 and is now a judge, wore the exact same dress she sported when she was crowned the winner two decades ago.
The orange, bohemian-style midi dress features a flowing cheetah print and a green, sparkly belt. Host Ryan Seacrest immediately noticed the familiar outfit as Underwood walked onto the stage.
Underwood confirmed it was the same dress, even sharing a fun “fit check” video online, joking that it “still fits!” She captioned the post, “Same dress, different view.”
Back in 2005, Underwood paired the dress with crimped hair and smokey eye makeup. For the special, she styled her long blonde hair in a half-up style with loose waves and wore a similar smokey eye look, adding a gold necklace.
The episode saw the current top 12 contestants perform songs by past “American Idol” stars. Underwood also treated viewers to a throwback performance of Heart’s “Alone,” a song she sang on the show in 2005.
While she updated her glam-rock outfit for this performance, she kept the same embroidered jacket she wore originally.
