Authorities Continue to Pursue Leads in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance

As the days pass since the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the question on everyone’s minds is whether the case is going cold. However, according to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, that couldn’t be further from the truth. In a recent radio interview, Nanos made it clear that authorities are still actively pursuing leads, with evidence such as DNA remaining viable as the investigation continues.

During a discussion with Bill Buckmaster and Arizona Daily Star columnist Tim Steller on KVOI AM 1030’s Bill Buckmaster Show, Nanos emphasized that he has a highly qualified team leading the investigation into Guthrie’s disappearance. While some may question whether the case will be solved, Nanos expressed full faith in his team’s ability, stating confidently, “I believe we will. There’s just a lot going on.”

Desperate to find answers, authorities believe Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman who went missing on Sunday, Feb. 1, may have been abducted from her home in the middle of the night. Despite receiving thousands of leads, investigators are still unable to identify a suspect.

Former FBI Special Agent Greg Rogers shared insights with Parade, stating that he does not believe the case is cold. While the number of FBI agents dedicated to the case has decreased as leads dwindle, there are still tech agents focusing on digital forensics like cell tower searches.

In a world full of uncertainties, one thing remains clear: the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has not become a cold case by any means. As authorities continue to pursue leads and gather evidence, the hope for answers still lingers in the air.
