Nancy Guthrie Case: Digital Forensics Expert Suggests Device Could Be Key in Locating Missing 84-Year-Old

Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since an abduction from her Tucson home. Recently, a digital forensics expert suggested that a device could be crucial in locating the 84-year-old woman.

On an episode of Crime Stories with Nancy Grace, digital forensics expert Heather Barnhart discussed Nancy Guthrie’s case with host Nancy Grace. They focused on the significance of Nancy’s hearing aids, as it was believed that she had a second pair on her at the time of the abduction that could be tracked through Bluetooth connectivity with her phone.

Unfortunately, Nancy’s phone was left behind, depriving investigators of a potential key to her location. However, if the phone had been paired with the hearing aids, its database could have revealed her last known location.

Despite the absence of the phone, investigators might have information on the hearing aids’ last known location before the batteries died, potentially aiding in the search for Nancy.

Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Hills home on January 31, with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department launching a search on February 1.

The absence of Nancy Guthrie continues to be a source of concern and mystery, with the hope that technology and investigative efforts may lead to her safe return.
