Paul Rodgers Shares Health Update and Declines Collaboration Opportunity with Van Halen

Paul Rodgers, the founding frontman of Bad Company, recently shared an update on his health and revealed that he was invited to collaborate on an upcoming project with Van Halen, but ultimately declined. The 76-year-old rocker took to social media to address fans, assuring them that he is in good health and gearing up to perform at the Adopt the Arts Sound and Vision Awards in Palm Springs in March.

This update from Rodgers comes after Alex Van Halen confirmed that he is working on a collection of new recordings featuring previously unheard material by his late brother Eddie, who passed away in October 2020 at the age of 65. In a recent interview, Van Halen mentioned that he and Steve Lukather are working on putting together a record, with drums, guitar, and bass already in place.

Rodgers’ decision to turn down the opportunity to work with Van Halen on this project was met with respect from Van Halen, who acknowledged the difficulty Rodgers faced in declining the offer. Despite fans’ concerns following Rodgers’ absence from Bad Company’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, it’s clear that the legendary musician is focused on his health and well-being.

In a previous interview, Rodgers opened up about his health struggles, including suffering two major strokes in 2016 and 2019, as well as multiple minor strokes. He underwent an endarterectomy, a procedure that posed a risk to his vocal cords, but six months later, he was able to sing and play guitar again. Each step forward in his recovery has been a testament to his strength and perseverance.

As Rodgers prepares for his upcoming performance, it’s evident that his resilience and passion for music continue to drive him forward. His dedication to his craft and his commitment to prioritizing his health serve as an inspiration to fans and fellow musicians alike.
