Roy Orbison Jr. Honors Beloved Parents on Anniversary of Their Deaths

On the anniversary of their deaths, Roy Orbison Jr. honors both of his beloved parents. Orbison Jr., the son of music legend Roy Orbison and his second wife Barbara Orbison, took to social media to commemorate the day both of his parents passed away, 23 years apart. In a poignant Instagram post, he shared that December 6th holds a special, yet somber significance for him as it marks the day his father passed away in 1988 from a heart attack at the age of 52, and the day his mother lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in 2011 at the age of 61.

Orbison Jr., who was just 18 years old when his father died, shared a touching black-and-white photo of himself as a baby being held by both of his parents. The image captures a moment frozen in time, reflecting a bond that transcends the passage of years.

Now 55, Orbison Jr. is one of Orbison’s two children with Barbara, alongside son Alexander “Orbi” Orbison born in 1975. Before his marriage to Barbara, Orbison was married to his first wife Claudette, with whom he had three sons: Roy Dewayne, Anthony King, and Wesley. Tragically, Claudette passed away in a motorcycle accident in 1966, and shortly after, their two eldest sons died in a devastating house fire.

The legacy of Roy Orbison lives on through his music, but for Orbison Jr., the anniversary of his parents’ deaths serves as a poignant reminder of the love and loss that shapes his life. As he reflects on this bittersweet day, Orbison Jr. honors the memory of his parents with a simple yet profound declaration: “Love You Mom & Dad ❤️❤️.”
