Shocking Surrogacy Scheme Uncovered in California

A shocking story has emerged from California, where authorities uncovered a disturbing scheme involving a couple who allegedly tricked surrogate mothers into carrying babies for them. The couple, Guojun Xuan and Silvia Zhang, had 21 children removed from their home by police after a two-month-old baby was found suffering from head injuries.

The investigation revealed that the children, aged from two months to 13 years old, were all born through surrogacy operations run by the couple. Surrogates from across the country had been led to believe they were helping a couple struggling with infertility, only to discover they were all carrying children for the same parents.

The parents owned a surrogacy agency, Mark Surrogacy, which was later revealed to be registered at their home. Despite claims from the couple that they only had one child, multiple surrogates came forward with stories of carrying babies for them. One surrogate from Pennsylvania is currently 26 weeks pregnant with a child for Mark Surrogacy.

Authorities are also investigating allegations of abuse involving other nannies hired by the couple. The couple, who were arrested on felony child endangerment charges, insist that any accusations against them are misguided.

One surrogate, Kayla Elliot, is now seeking custody of the child she delivered for the couple. She has started a GoFundMe to raise money for legal fees. The entire situation has left many involved feeling shocked and betrayed.

This heartbreaking story serves as a reminder of the importance of thoroughly researching and vetting any agencies or individuals involved in surrogacy. It also highlights the need for greater oversight and regulation in the surrogacy industry to protect both surrogate mothers and the children born through these arrangements.
