Renowned singer Celine Dion delivered a poignant speech emphasizing hope’s significance while presenting the Spirit of Life Award.
“City of Hope’s name reflects its mission beyond crucial research, providing care during life’s most challenging moments,” Dion said.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer, diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022, underscored hope’s importance.
“Amid tremendous challenges, maintaining hope and positivity is vital,” Dion noted. “Coming together to spread this gift brings joy.”
Dion presented the award to Jay Marciano, AEG Presents’ Chairman and CEO.
City of Hope’s annual campaign unites artists to conquer cancer and diabetes.
For this rare appearance, Dion wore a stunning black velvet dress, styled her hair in a bun and chose smokey eyeshadow.
Her outing follows July’s 2024 Paris Olympics performance, where she sang atop the Eiffel Tower.
Dion reflected on her comeback: “Since the Eiffel Tower performance, I’ve missed the stage.”
In 2022, Dion revealed her stiff person syndrome diagnosis, a rare autoimmune disorder causing muscle stiffness and spasms.
Previously, Dion postponed her 2021 Las Vegas residency due to severe muscle spasms related to her condition.
