Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, has returned to social media following Kanye West’s recent attack on her grandchildren, which came in the form of a vile and unprovoked rant.
Earlier this week, the 47-year-old disgraced rapper questioned the intelligence of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, in a disturbing post shared on X.
After deleting the original post, West, a 24-time Grammy winner, reposted the offensive comments on Elon Musk’s platform.
On Wednesday, Knowles posted a video on Instagram, where she shared a lighthearted “corny joke.”
In her caption, the 71-year-old wrote, “It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil. But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lord’s, I know that God has got this.”
West, who shares four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, also made unfounded claims about Beyoncé and Jay-Z using in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive their younger children.
After deleting his original post, West clarified that his decision wasn’t to be “a good person.”
“I want everyone to know that I took down the post about Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s family because there was a chance my Twitter could get cancelled,” Kanye West wrote.
After making a series of new antisemitic comments on X later Wednesday, Ye turned his focus back to Jay-Z, 55, and Beyoncé, 43.
The artist, formerly known as Kanye West, admitted he felt “bad” about his unwarranted attack on the couple’s children. “I LOVE JAY-Z AND I DO FEEL BAD,” Ye began, seemingly backtracking on his previous remarks. “I ALWAYS FELT LIKE THE BLACK SHEEP, LIKE I WANTED FAMILY IN THIS MUSIC S–T.”
He continued, “I’D RUN ON STAGES THINKING I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING AND WOULD ALWAYS BE A SLIGHT HOV NOT COMING TO MY FIRST WEDDING,” possibly referencing his infamous interruption of Taylor Swift’s 2009 VMAs acceptance speech.
Ye’s later posts targeted Jay-Z, who sometimes goes by “HOV,” as well as Beyoncé’s decision to skip his 2014 wedding to Kim Kardashian. West also criticized Jay-Z for not accepting several requests to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
“HIM PUTTING KENDRICK [Lamar] ON THE SUPERBOWL OVER ME OR EVEN US NEVER BEING INVITED TO S—T TAKING [sic] JABS ABOUT MY RED HAT ON DONDA,” West wrote.
In 2019, Jay-Z signed a deal with the NFL to produce Super Bowl halftime performances, and he tapped Kendrick Lamar for the 2025 show.
West and Jay-Z were once close friends, collaborating on the 2011 album Watch the Throne, but their relationship soured in 2016 after West publicly criticized Jay-Z for not checking on his family after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
