Rosie O’Donnell’s eldest daughter, Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, was sentenced on Monday to six years of probation following a series of arrests last fall.
Belle pleaded guilty in February to one felony count of methamphetamine possession, one felony count of bail jumping, and one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer.
She received two years of probation for each charge. Two additional charges—a felony count of narcotic drug possession and a misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia possession—were dismissed.
Belle, represented by attorney Brad Hansen, has the right to appeal her sentence and was credited with 33 days of time served in jail.
Chelsea Belle O’Donnell’s legal troubles began last fall with her first arrest on September 10 in Marinette County, Wisconsin.
She faced multiple felony charges, including child neglect, methamphetamine possession, and maintaining a site for drug trafficking, along with four misdemeanor narcotics-related charges.
At the time, her adoptive mother, Rosie O’Donnell, addressed the situation, saying, “Sadly, this is not new for our family. Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade. We are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”
Belle was arrested again in November on similar drug possession charges and was later charged with two felony counts of bail jumping and a misdemeanor for resisting or obstructing an officer.
Born on September 20, 1997, Belle was adopted as a baby by O’Donnell and her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter.
She was raised by the couple until 2015 when, at 17, she ran away and later moved to Wisconsin to live with her birth mother.
The two remained estranged until Belle announced her first pregnancy in 2018, which led to a reconnection.
Now a mother of three—Skylar Rose, Riley, and Avery Lynn—Belle’s personal struggles continue to unfold in the public eye.
Meanwhile, Rosie O’Donnell revealed in March that she relocated to Ireland with her 12-year-old child, Clay, ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The longtime Trump critic explained that her decision was driven by political concerns, stating, “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”
