Love Island USA Announces Yulissa Escobar’s Sudden Exit After Videos with Racist Slurs Surface

Just one episode into the new season of “Love Island USA,” original Islander Yulissa Escobar has already departed the villa. Peacock announced her exit 18 minutes into the seventh season’s second episode, which aired on Wednesday, June 4.

Escobar’s departure comes after audiences reportedly uncovered instances of her using racist slurs on two separate podcasts, according to TMZ, following the cast announcement on Thursday, May 29. Viewers had expressed intentions to vote her off the show once public voting began.

During the premiere episode, Escobar had chosen to couple up with Ace Greene, despite Greene already being paired with Chelley Bissainthe, a move that stirred immediate controversy among fans.

Escobar, Greene, and Bissainthe were among the initial ten Islanders who entered the Fiji villa. Other original cast members included Jeremiah Brown, Nicolas Vansteenberghe, Taylor Williams, Austin Shepard, Belle-A Walker, Huda Mustafa, and Olandria Carthen.

This early exit follows a slightly delayed start to the season. The “Love Island USA” Season 7 premiere, originally set for 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT on Tuesday, June 3, experienced a nearly 45-minute delay before airing on Peacock.

After the premiere week, “Love Island USA” Season 7 will air daily, except Wednesdays, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
