How Was Carrie Underwood’s Performance At Donald Trump’s Inauguration

Carrie Underwood’s performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration faced technical difficulties.

As she started singing “America the Beautiful,” the music unexpectedly cut out, resulting in an awkward silence in the U.S. Capitol’s Rotunda.

However, Underwood continued by leading the room in an acapella rendition of the song, with attendees, including President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Doug Emhoff, joining in.

Underwood received backlash after the inauguration committee announced her performance at Trump’s ceremony.

In response, she stated, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event.

“I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

The performance took place indoors in the Rotunda due to dangerously cold temperatures in Washington, D.C. Trump noted on Truth Social that he ordered the inauguration address and other speeches to be delivered inside, similar to what was done by Ronald Reagan in 1985.

Those with tickets were invited to watch the event at the Capital One Arena.

Before this event, Carrie Underwood had generally kept her political views private, despite previous attempts by critics to categorize her politically.
