Maddie Ziegler is a film actress born on September 30, 2002, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Her parents are Kurt Ziegler, a mortgage lender, and Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni. She has Italian, Polish, and German ancestry. Her mother wed Greg Gisoni in 2013 after their 2011 divorce.
Early Years
When Ziegler was two years old, she enrolled in ballet classes. By the time she was four years old, she had already mastered tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, acro, and jazz and joined the Abby Lee Dance Company.
Ziegler’s family tree includes a half-brother, a half-sister from her father’s first marriage, and two older step-siblings from her stepfather Greg Gisoni’s first marriage. Ziegler’s younger sister, Mackenzie, is a dancer and singer who has appeared on Dance Moms.
Before opting to be educated at home in 2013, Ziegler was a student at Sloan Elementary School in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.
Although Ziegler spent much of her childhood in Murrysville, she started working and moved to Los Angeles as a teenager.
Professional Life
Ziegler was named the 2014 Dancers Choice Award for Favourite Dancer 17 & Under, among her many accolades from regional, state, and national dance competitions while performing with Abby Lee Dance Company.
She appeared on Live to Dance, Paula Abdul’s 2010 reality show.
The Dance Moms contributed to Ziegler becoming “one of the most famous dancers in the entertainment world currently.
Her breakout role in Sia’s 2014 ARIA Music Award-winning music video for “Chandelier” brought her widespread attention when she was only eleven years old. At the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, the video was nominated for Video of the Year and won Best Choreography. Also, in 2015, it was nominated for Best Music Video at the Grammys.
In 2016, PopSugar compiled a list of “25 of the Best Dance Videos of the Last Decade” that included the “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” music videos.
Ziegler delivered another robust performance in the 2016 music video for “Cheap Thrills” by Sia, which is off her album This Is Acting.

Ziegler was in a relationship with Jack Kelly, son of former New York Yankees shortstop Pat Kelly, from the beginning of 2017 till the middle of 2018.
She was in a relationship with musician Eddie Benjamin from 2019 till the beginning of 2023.
