Madelyn Cline is an American model and TV star born on December 21, 1997, in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Her most notable performances were Whisky in Rian Johnson’s mystery thriller Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) and Sarah Cameron in the Netflix adolescent drama series Outer Banks (2020).
Earlier years
Growing up in Goose Creek, South Carolina, Cline was the daughter of real estate agent Pam and engineer Mark. She attended Coastal Carolina University briefly before deciding to leave and pursue acting professionally in Los Angeles. She appeared in an ad for Chuck E. Cheese when she was little.
Cline began her career at the age of ten by competing in the AMTC modeling and talent competitions, and she later signed with the Charleston-based Millie Lewis Models & Talent agency. A few issues later, she graced the Parent and Parent & Child covers. T-Mobile, Flow Automotive, Next Clothing, and other brands commissioned Cline to appear on television and print advertisements during her early summers in New York City, together with Sunny D.
Career
She landed little parts, including Taylor Watts in Vice Principals (2016–2017) and Chloe in Boy Erased (2018). Stranger Things (2017) and The Originals (2017) featured her in modestly recurring parts.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, a critically acclaimed mystery comedy directed by Rian Johnson and premiered on Netflix on December 23, 2022, had Cline as the lead.
Cline has walked the runway for Stella McCartney, American Eagle, American Girl, Toys “R” Us, Cosmo, ElleIndia, and Versace, among other brands. In 2023, she joined Mason Gooding on the “Summer Essentials” lifestyle campaign as a Tommy Hilfiger brand ambassador.

Cline confirmed her relationship status with Outer Banks co-star Chase Stokes in June 2020. The couple’s breakup was confirmed in October 2021.
