Alisha Weir is an actress born on September 26, 2009. She is an Irish actress who has played immense roles in Matilda the Musical (2022) and Abigail (2024).
Alisa Weir was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, by her parents. She enrolled in theatrical courses when she was old enough, following in the footsteps of her two elder sisters, Katie and Emma-Jane Weir.
In 2017, Weir reprised her role as Ivanka at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin for the musical Once’s comeback. On The Late Late Toy Show, she sang a cover of “True Colours” by Justin Timberlake. She first appeared in the 2018 thriller Don’t Leave Home and the 2019 crime drama Darklands, both of which were her first television appearances. She had guest appearances in Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, and Annie.
Playing the lead role of Matilda Wormwood in Netflix’s Matilda the Musical film adaption, Weir was cast at the tender age of eleven.
The 2024 horror flick Abigail starred Weir. April 19, 2024, was the release date of the picture. She did her stunts and studied dance for the part. The Hollywood Reporter’s Frank Scheck gushed over her performance, describing it as “mesmerizing” and “so frightening and sardonically funny as the pint-sized bloodsucker that Bela Lugosi must be turning over in his grave from jealousy.”
The Parent Trap and The Black Phone are among Weir’s favorite films. Actress Saoirse Ronan is someone she looks up to immensely.
Known for her role as Laura on Darklands, the actress shot to stardom in both television and movies. Because of this, she was chosen to play Matilda in the 2022 film. She has received over five acting credits throughout her current and expanding career.
