Stephanie Victoria Allen, better known by her stage name Stefflon Don, was born on December 14, 1991, in Birmingham, England. Now 32 years old, Stefflon Don has made a significant mark in the music industry as a rapper and singer. 

Early Life

Born in Birmingham, she is of Jamaican descent and grew up with seven siblings, including the rapper Dutchavelli. At age five, her family moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, where she quickly became fluent in Dutch.

Her passion for music was evident from a young age; she started singing and writing music during primary school. At just nine years old, she recorded a Hard Knock Life hook for the rapper U-Niq, which, although never released, was a memorable experience for her. 

When she was 14, her family moved back to the UK, where she continued her education in London.

Career

Before her breakthrough in music, Stefflon Don worked as a cake decorator and hairdresser. 

Her music career began to take off in 2015 when she released a cover of Wretch 32’s 6 Words. This was followed by features on tracks such as Lethal Bizzle’s Wobble, Sneakbo’s Work remix, and Angel’s Hop On. 

Her first mixtape, Real Ting, was released in December 2016, and it included hits like 16 Shots and the title track Real Ting. This mixtape established her as a formidable talent in the music industry.

Rise to Fame

Stefflon Don’s career saw a significant boost with the release of her single Hurtin’ Me featuring French Montana in August 2017. The song peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart and was the lead single from her debut EP, Hurtin’ Me – The EP, released in January 2018.

Her success continued as she was featured on the remix of Halsey’s Alone with Big Sean, which peaked at number 66 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

In June 2018, she was included in the XXL Freshman Class, and later that year, she released her second mixtape, Secure.

In recent years, Stefflon Don has continued collaborating with various artists and expanding her influence. In March 2019, she was featured on Wiley’s song Boasty and provided vocals for XXXTentacion’s posthumous track Royalty in July 2019. 

She also participated in the Platinum Party at the Palace in June 2022 to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.

Personal Life

Stefflon Don’s personal life has also been of public interest. At the age of 17, she gave birth to her son, Jaylen. 

She was in a high-profile relationship with Nigerian singer Burna Boy from 2018 to 2022. Stefflon Don has been open about her experiences and challenges, including her impactful relationship with Burna Boy. 

She has also shown compassion, as seen in September 2019 when she helped a British artist, Shocka, by funding his mother’s cancer treatment in Nigeria.
