Early Age and Education

Chambers pursued her musical aspirations at Isle of Wight College, where she studied music and met her future bandmate, Rhian Teasdale.

Career

Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale’s musical journey began at Platform One College of Music on the Isle of Wight, where they first met. After a decade of friendship, they formed a band in 2019, naming it Wet Leg. 

Wet Leg’s debut single, Chaise Longue, released on June 15, 2021, received widespread media attention and millions of streams. Their follow-up singles, including Wet Dream, solidified their reputation, with Variety praising their music. 

The band’s debut album, released on April 8, 2022, was a critical and commercial success, topping charts in Australia and the United Kingdom. They have since performed on notable platforms such as BBC2’s Later… with Jools Holland and NPR’s Tiny Desk series. In 2023, Wet Leg toured Australia and New Zealand, supporting Harry Styles on his Love On Tour. 

Personal Life

Hester Chambers maintains a close personal and professional relationship with her boyfriend, Joshua, who has also performed as a touring member of Wet Leg. 

Her musical influences include Laura Marling and Anna Calvi, who have shaped her guitar-playing style. Despite her rapid success and hectic schedule, Chambers remains grounded and shares a strong bond with her bandmate Teasdale.
