Emilie Astley – Age, Family, Bio

Emilie Astley is a member of the Astley family, born on August 30, 1992, in England.

She is the daughter of musician Rick Astley. With a background in garden and landscape design and an education in visual art, she now resides in Denmark.

Her mother, Lene, is Danish. Thus, she grew up with the language and customs of the nation. She follows her paternal grandfather’s career path by designing gardens; her paternal grandpa had a garden center when he was a kid. She seemed pretty content there, but he detested his job there.

In an interview with The Times, her father said that when she returns home, they plan to spend a Sunday enjoying tea and singing along to the musical My Fair Lady’s score. In an interview with People Magazine, he also said that she is responsible for his newfound love of cats.

Rick Astley has come clean about his daughter Emilie’s interest in following in her grandfather’s footsteps rather than in his own.

He disclosed her musical skills while describing her as someone from a privileged family who doesn’t take anything for granted.

Despite her impressive drumming skills and near-perfect singing voice, she had little interest in pursuing music as a career. I am happy she didn’t go through with it since I would have stood by her.

But Rick hinted that his only daughter, who has a master’s degree in fine art, would instead follow in his father’s footsteps and work in gardening.

Emilie has a landscape design business; she uses her mother’s maiden name as a surname rather than Astley.

Rick said, “I never wanted to see a plant again – it skipped a generation.” He said he grew up repotting plants at his dad’s little garden business after school.

He went on to say that she avoids using his surname out of extreme caution over nepotism.

In a joint interview with Emilie, he told the Sunday Times, “When one of your parents is famous, I think a lot of people raise an eyebrow and say that’s why you are successful, but I can’t help her with the gardening world.”

Despite his inability to assist her professionally, he did confess to feeling “super proud” of her performance at last year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

In the middle of the 2000s, her father, Rick Astley, became renowned for the bait-and-switch meme art known as rickrolling. In it, he would invariably link to a clip from the music video for his song “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
