In a very surprising turn out of events, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)has just arrested social media influencer, Adeherself alongside four others on allegations of internet fraud.
This information was made known via the agency’s verified Twitter handle.
EFCC Arrests Social Media Influencer, Four Others for Internet Fraud
The EFCC Lagos Zonal Office, has arrested five alleged internet fraudsters, including one Adedamola Adewale, a self-acclaimed social media influencer, for their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.

According to the EFCC, the five suspects were arrested in different areas of Lagos, namely Argungi and Ibeju-Lekki. The five suspects include:
Adewale, Lamina Hamzat Ajibola, Israel Onyebuchi, Emmanuel Olayode Valentine Nwokorie.
Now this is where it gets interesting. Adewale (male) allegedly owns the Instagram account @adeherself. However, the account was run by comedienne Lamina Hamzat Ajibola who was allegedly the front used in luring their victims.
According to the EFCC, there are other members of the crime ring still at large, Lasisi Wasiu Adeleke and Lasisi Riliwan Adeniyi.
Items recovered from the suspects include two Toyota Camry 2009 model cars, and a sum of N9,000,000.00 (Nine Million Naira only), which was found in Adewale’s account.
Investigations are still ongoing at the moment.
