I Visited Lufasi Park, And Here Is What I Think About The Place

Lufasi park is a nature park located in Lagos along Lekki-Epe Expressway, around Sangotedo area (a little after Lagos Business School). I have wanted to visit Lufasi park for the longest time, so when my friend decided that she’d like to have her birthday picnic there and invited me, of course I jumped at the offer.

We rented a bus to take us there and also bring us back. We were about 8 in number, so we were armed with enough food to last the whole day. We set off at about 2pm and got there at 4pm.

On arrival we paid Entry fee into the park(1000 per adult; 500 for kids) and we immediately set off exploring. One thing that struck me about the park was how serene it was. We met quite a number of people there, families and children playing (they have a kids arena).

The first sight was a pond, with very few ducks swimming in it. It made a beautiful sight so we stayed a bit at this spot taking pictures. From there we contacted a staff and requested for a tour guide so that we could begin our exploring properly. The tour guide was generally patient with us, as we kept stopping to take pictures and videos etc. He also gave a brief history of the park.

Our first stop was where some of the animals were kept, they have a 100 year old tortoise, monkeys of different species, a donkey. These were the ones we saw, not sure if they had more animals as we didn’t ask. Next he took us through the Ekki forest (not really a forest, but that’s what its called) where he showed us some historic sites.

Afterwards we proceeded to the boardwalk, which was my next favorite spot because the scenery was beautiful and it was right in the middle of a small lake.

We headed back after we got to this point even though our tour guide said there still some exploring to do, but we were too tired and hungry to go on.

Thankfully they have a picnic bench (where we piled all our food) which was way more convenient than the blanket we carried along to use.

I enjoyed my visit to Lufasi park thoroughly because I went with friends, we also had no issues getting there. We went on a public holiday so there was no traffic and our journey to the park was smooth. We didn’t have any unpleasant experience while we were there.

They let us bring in our own food and drinks and we also didn’t have to pay for parking space. I wish we went earlier in the day so that we could have stayed there longer.

If you’re planning to visit Lufasi, it’s advisable you go in a group, take lots of food, drinks and games as there are not many side attractions. It’s a wonderful spot for a picnic or relaxing get together. I look forward to visiting again!

Till next time,
