Article Content

Oreofe said;

I think it is important that Nigerian women share their stories because of the awareness speaking about these experiences brings.
A case in point is how a number of people took to Twitter to talk about the harassment and unwarranted touching that women & girls experience in a number of big markets in Nigeria.
This seemingly small feat led to the birth of a powerful initiative called #MarketMarch. So far, #MarketMarch has touched Yaba market in Lagos and there have been positive changes experienced since the event.

Titi Odeyinke said;

I think it is important for Nigerian women to tell their stories because for so many years, we have been silenced, misrepresented and erased in history and I think it is high time we take charge and change this narrative and tell our stories so we’re not erased in the history books. I also think when women share their stories, it gives a feeling of belongingness to other Nigerian women, a form of sisterhood because you know that you are not alone in this struggle and it would inspire more women to keep pushing, to keep reaching for greater heights.
