Hi there! It’s Kinniobong from nailedbykinni. And today, I’m going to help guide you around the world of chrome nails.
The coolest nail polish trend is happening right now. It’s all over the internet, Instagram and everyone seems to be wearing it. And if you’re not already obsessed with the chrome nails effect, you’re about to be.
I know chrome nails are not anything new. As a matter of fact, chrome nails have been around for a long time now. What is new and what everyone is talking about is the “chrome powder”.
It’s definitely more chrome than you will get out of nail polish or regular foil. Chrome nail polish just looks really silver and they don’t have that reflected mirror effect that this powder gives.

Frequently asked questions
Can you use Chrome on normal nail polish?
You can achieve chrome nails using a DIY home kit. Unlike the professional kit, the DIY home kit can be used with regular nail polish.
Do you put a top coat over chrome nails?
You can’t just apply the topcoat over nail polish. To achieve chrome, it must be applied on top of a cured layer. Cure in a UV lamp for 2 minutes. If applied directly on a colour or a tacky layer, the mirror-like effect won’t be achieved.
Do chrome nails last long?
Yes, chrome nails last for weeks. To prevent the nails from chipping and peeling off, use the gel polish as the base color for chrome polish.
How do you get chrome nails off?
Soak your nails in acetone for up to 15 minutes, and wipe afterwards.
