The English actress Debra Ann McGee is well-known for her roles as magician Paul Daniels&#8217;s assistant and widow. She has also been in theatre and radio.<br \/><br \/>McGee has a background in ballet and was the creative director of her own company for three years. For BBC Radio Berkshire, she hosts a morning program every Sunday. McGee has been a regular on the Loose Women panel since January 2018, and she was a finalist on BBC&#8217;s Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and the winner of the 2019 Christmas Special.<br \/>Early Years<br \/>McGee&#8217;s parents are Patrick McGee and Lillian Howes. A corner store was her parents&#8217; business when McGee was a little girl. Her dad eventually found a job with a major manufacturer of gold rings and other jewels.<br \/><br \/>Tolworth is home to McGee&#8217;s primary school, Our Lady Immaculate RC, and her high school, Tolworth Girls&#8217; School. When McGee was sixteen years old, she applied to and was accepted into the Royal Ballet School.<br \/><br \/>Soon after finishing college, she joined Tehran&#8217;s Iranian National Ballet Company. At nineteen, she joined the Corps de dance and performed solos; nevertheless, her dance career came to a sudden end due to the Iranian Revolution. She was compelled to leave the nation and returned to the UK with very little in the way of wealth or belongings.<br \/><br \/>She tried out for the Bernard Delfont Organisation, which produced several large-scale summer resort performances and touring musicals, in her pursuit of new employment. Delfont secured a position for her in the summer of 1979 at the Britannia Pier Theatre in Great Yarmouth, where she would appear with magician Paul Daniels. <br \/><br \/>As a professional magician in Britain, McGee joined The Magic Circle in October 1991, making history as one of the few female magicians to do so. Her triumph was commemorated with a television appearance when she performed a trick with Daniels, who played the role of her aide &#8220;The Lovely Paul&#8221; and was censored throughout the show.<br \/>Private life<br \/>She and her late husband, Paul Daniels, were regulars on many reality shows, such as The Farm, When Louis Met&#8230; Paul and Debbie, and The X Factor: Battle of the Stars.
