{"id":75,"date":"2022-06-05T01:15:33","date_gmt":"2022-06-05T01:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/urbanwomanmag.com\/africa\/?p=75"},"modified":"2022-06-05T01:17:27","modified_gmt":"2022-06-05T01:17:27","slug":"pauline-tallen-nigerias-womens-affairs-minister-gets-un-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/urbanwomanmag.com\/africa\/pauline-tallen-nigerias-womens-affairs-minister-gets-un-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"Pauline Tallen, Nigeria&#8217;s Women\u2019s Affairs Minister, Gets UN Appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">The UN Office for the Prevention of Genocide has named Mrs Pauline Tallen, Nigeria&#8217;s Minister of Women&#8217;s Affairs as chair of a Global Committee on the Prevention of Genocide and Atrocity from the Women&#8217;s Perspective.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ms Alice Nderitu, the UN Secretary-Special General&#8217;s Adviser on Genocide Prevention, informed the minister of this during a courtesy visit to Abuja on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In her words, \u201cthere are situations where there is clear intent to destroy whole ethnic, racial and religious communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe question we are asking is, what should be the solution against that intent?
